((I know that was lame, but after watching Mamma Mia last weekend, I’m happy to make any song reference/joke so long as it isn’t an ABBA song.))

Spent a little time in Shadowmoon Valley yesterday, and when I dropped into Shattrath afterwards the flight master suggested I go back and see someone about learning how to fly one those gryphons all by my lonesome. The dwarf wanted a terrible lot for the training, and then she had the audacity to let me know that she could train me even further for a paltry sum of 5000 gold. Ah well, I’ll probably do it anyways, I’m a sucker for ladies in riding leathers. Anyways, I bought myself a dashing looking ebon gryphon and now I am lord of the skies. Or maybe just knight of the skies . . . .

Standing on a Blades Edge

Been spending some time around The Blade’s Edge Mountains. It’s pretty good stuff. Toshley’s Station is definitely one of my favorite towns of all. It’s always nice to see a group of gnomes get together and manage to build a town without irradiating it. Gnomes are some of my best friends (except that wily Fizlak, I think he’s got an eye on my sister . . . ), and I’d love to see them with a few more towns here and there.

Also I’ve been working with a fellow by the name of Sablemane for a while, and it wasn’t until I saw this, that I realized he was a dragon in human form.

I’m not so sure if I really want to work with him that much now, my past experience with dragons has been less then thrilling. So I think that will wrap up my time in this region of the Outlands for now. While it wasn’t the worst region of this forsaken planet, I enjoyed my time in Nagrand and the Hellfire Peninsula much more. Perhaps I will head back there again soon, but I think next in my tour is the Shadowmoon Valley.

A Moscow Mule

((My second newest character, right before Shimai, is Oxota, a dwarf hunter. I picked his name the lazy way, google translate the word hunt into five different languages and pick the coolest one. Granted with russian you have to get a little lucky as I did. Oxota is not a proper translation of the russian letters in the word, but rather, the easy visual equivalents in the roman alphabet. Tacky? Yes. Still a sweet name for a hunter? Definitely. Also Ohota, which I believe is closer to correct romanization, just isn’t as cool.))

((Also, a Moscow Mule is my new favorite drink. I love ginger beer so this was an easy one to like.))

Bloody Epic Pally Mount

So Melleona (my sister) and I managed to complete her quest for a truly righteous mount. Much more epic then I had expected, we ran back and forth across two continents, explored three dungeons, and bought some horse feed. Afterwards we let off some steam by messing with the Scarlet Crusade. Melleona decided not to dismount when we reached Light’s Hope, and instead she gave the Argent Dawn a little more bargaining power at the negotiation table.

Thief the Snake

((Fizlak, my main character, is a bit rogueish. I play him with my wife, whose main is a dwarf paladin.))

Melleona assures me that our relationship is strictly business. We’re business associates. A shorty can hope though, can’t he?

She keeps me from going off the rogue deep end. A good thing I suppose. We spent some time in Silithus recently collecting sandworm meat to improve our cooking skills. When I ran across a curious specimen of dredge crusher. It appeared to be twins conjoined at the . . . hip? My inner rogue took over, and he was dead in a matter of moments, and I was prepared to stuff and mount the monstrosity when the voice of reason broke in (read: Melleona told me that we were absolutely not riding through the desert with any kind of dead snake strapped to my mount). So instead I took a picture.

It’s not quite the same, but it gets less disapproving looks from my business associate.

Outland is neat!

So I reached the outlands, the day after my last post. And I’ve gotta say, the outlands are neat. This is why I haven’t posted in forever, too much neat-o factor to handle.

And then Melcrum hit 60. Went and got his elite mount right away. It’s a good thing he’s a cash cow, cause dang that sucker’s expensive.

After that he finally did the bombing missions in hellfire, which were sweeeeet. Maybe the coolest quest type, although there may be more to discover, and I’m getting excited about two person mount quests in the next expansion.

Recently he met up with some like minded individuals and snuck into the Hellfire Citadel, namely the Ramparts. This was a brilliant endeavor, that went off without a single hitch. It may have even restored some of my faith in PuGs. I forgot to get a screen shot of the final kill, but maybe next time. I have a feeling I may try it again or maybe Blood Furnace soon since this went so well.

Melcrum is currently mucking about in the Zangermarsh, with occasional forays into Terrokar Forest. Hopefully I will update again soon, I finally got some shots of my ‘main’ so perhaps I will introduce him next.

My Main Alt

Melcrum, my main alt, is a dwarf warrior. He just dinged 57 last night, and you can see him here preparing to venture into the wilds of Winterspring.

I’m pushing to get him to 58 soon so that I can make my first foray through the Dark Portal, and see the sights in outland. With that in mind he took on some Ice Thistle Yetis in order to collect some hides. Those hides weren’t quite sufficient so now he has to head back and get some pristine hides. Oi!

Admiral Odesyus and Cookie McWeakSauce

I have to say that one of my favorite quest lines in any starting area is the one given by Admiral Odesyus south of Azure Watch. With titles like ‘I’ve got a plant’ and ‘Trees Company’ this stuff cracks me up. Here is Shimai disguised as a tree (best costume too, except maybe the murloc costume).

Also, Odesyus and Cookie have some of the best random NPC dialogue out there.
